Weekend 12th & 13th October 2024
On the 13th, Sunday, we will hold an event featuring seagull and pre 1960 outboards of low horse power.
The intent is to keep in the spirit with our old oil burners, so maritime dress preferred, and speed is definitely no advantage!
The course starts in the Hatea river upstream from Victoria bridge, through the town basin, to the lifting bridge, and back, finishing in the basin to accolades from the crowds.
Crew must be at least two people. Various activities are to be performed on route, so speed is not an advantage. Water cannons/ pistols allowed, if not compulsory, so you will get wet! Prizes given later.
Rules or route may be modified before the event, but all participants will be equal. Impartial judges. Fun is compulsory.
Plenty of places to stay up here so do come up, or down, and enjoy the festival, lots of other marine stuff going on, and they are really excited to have this event!
$5 dollar entry, this will go towards their mission of helping youth get into things marine.
